Foundations of Planning - Virtual - Fall 2025

The Foundations course focuses on the overarching umbrella of sustainability within an organization in relation to resource management. Topics include history/definition of sustainability, an introduction to energy, water, waste, fleet, and a review of overall resource management plan development and implementation. The student will create an action plan that will enable them to add subsequent plans, such as an Energy Management Plan, as they work towards developing an entire plan.
Pre-Requisite: None, AEM recommended Course Work: Action Plan PDH: 7

The desired result of the Energy/Sustainability Management course is to assist students in gaining an understanding of what sustainability means and how it relates to the workplace. The goal of the course is for students to gain key knowledge regarding sustainability, be able to apply sustainability concepts in a variety of settings and understand the relationship between energy management and sustainability management.
